Thanks for stopping by to read my blog
I was first introduced to horticulture by joining in a project being run at a hostel i was residing in. The project consisted of ‘making something’ of an overgrown allotment plot at the Saint Ann’s Allotments in Nottingham. I was unaware at the time but this was essentially Social and Therapeutic Horticulture. I was a service user and that was 12 years ago.
Life took a few more twists and turns before I arrived at a stage where I wanted to pursue horticulture as a new life journey.
I’m now in my second year of horticulture study at Nottingham Trent University and new doors are constantly opening to me. However, I’m still working on the Saint Ann’s allotments in a volunteering capacity on an Urban Nature Allotment, and I’m still interested on the conservation work we do here. My other interests include animals and I like the idea of combining animals and horticulture in areas such as zoo horticulture and entomology.
